    Position Title:

         Maintenance Consultant & Training Department Coordinator

    Position Description:

         Commander Aircraft is looking for a skilled AMT to provide advice and guidance for aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul, inspections, and Production to its workforce. You will be responsible for providing guidance with troubleshooting aircraft discrepancies, for recommended corrective actions, and assisting in these actions when necessary to maximum cost effectiveness, reliability, and functionality.     

    An excellent AMT has good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. They are well-versed in complex aircraft mechanical and electrical systems, and have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. This position requires good communicators skills to provide advice to commander maintenance and inspection personnel, and customers.


    Consult with the chief and quality assurance inspectors during all types of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and production taskings. Advise during airframe and powerplant work for mechanical and electrical systems to help diagnose issues accurately, and recommend corrective actions while maintaining a high level of safety. Provide guidance during major repairs and alterations, and required documentation. Assist with determining accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for work performed, and review aircraft record maintenance release documentation for completeness.


    Position Requirements:

    • Minimum 10 years’ hands-on experience in actual aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul, inspections, and Production.

    • Minimum 10 years of supervisory and training of personnel in light aircraft.

    • Minimum 10 years of aircraft sheet metal production and repairs.  

    • Willingness to observe safety precautions for protections against accidents.     

    • FAA Airframe and Powerplant ratings with Inspection Authorization.

    • Minimum of a Private Pilot certificate is beneficial.

    • Experience with the Commander 112 and 114 series, and other various piston engine, high performance, complex aircraft.  

    • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of aircraft.

    • Working knowledge of aircraft diagnostic systems and equipment.

    • Knowledge and use of aircraft drawings, and various tools and equipment used during the maintenance, inspection, and production of aircraft.

    Willingness to take on new challenges in a rapidly changing environment.
